Mary Reynolds-Gilmore, M.S., CCC-SLP/L
Our founder and lead clinician, Mary Reynolds-Gilmore, MS, CCC-SLP, brings over 20 years of experience as a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist. She earned her undergraduate degree from Molloy University and her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Syracuse University.
Mary has worked in a variety of clinical, hospital, and academic settings, including United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, where she also served as a feeding specialist, NYU Langone/Winthrop-University Hospital, and North Shore Speech and Language Associates. She has also contributed to the education of future clinicians as a Clinical Supervisor in the graduate clinic at Hofstra University and as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Molloy University.
Mary’s philosophy is that the most meaningful learning happens in natural environments. That’s why Speech by the Sound provides speech and language therapy in your home and community settings. We actively partner with parents and caregivers to create therapy that is engaging, effective, and tailored to each child’s real-world experiences.
At Speech by the Sound, we believe education is a lifelong pursuit. Mary has earned four ASHA Awards for Continuing Education and a Literacy Microcredential, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and best practices. She has advanced training in early childhood development, motor speech disorders, feeding therapy, and reading assessment and instruction. Families can feel confident knowing they are receiving current, evidence-based care grounded in both research and experience.
When she’s not providing therapy, Mary enjoys knitting and spending time with her husband, three children, black cat, and Golden Retriever.
